The blue circle next to my mouse pointer will not stop turning. When I try to open My Toshiba or any other Toshiba utility I get "My Toshiba has stopped working Windows is searching for a solution." Has anyone had this problem? Do I need to reinstall Windows? I have a L555D-S7930.

It does appear you have been infected by a virus. In any case, the cleanest solution would be to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media.
