A70/A75 series laptop

[ Edited ]

Overheats and shutdown after 5 minutes of use. Used SYSTEM MECHANIC to clean it up but the problem persists. Tried using on a large fan laying on it's side and that cured the problem but that is not the best way to operate a laptop. Any suggestions?

That series is prone to overheating.  Take it apart, clean out all the dust and foreign matter, and replace the old thermal compound between the CPU and heatsink with quality compound like Arctic Silver.  Try www.irisvista.com for teardown instructions if you are in a DIY mood.
