BIOS update produces unusable sysyem; return to previous BIOS?

I have a Satellite L455-S5980. I up the BIOS to the latest on the Toshiba site:

02-02-2012 BIOS

Now my system is unable. There are multi-color horizontal and vertical lines across part of the screen and the screen "bounces".

How can I go back to the previous BIOS and where can I download it?

TIA

The other BIOS versions are on the support site in the same spot. For older versions, you just have to hit the plus sign next to the update name.

You may also want to try this. Turn off your laptop, unplug all wires, remove the battery, and hold the power button for thirty seconds. Afterwards, reattach the battery and connections.

I downloaded "sly0v150.exe". Is this the whole bios update, or do I have to be connected to the web to download the rest of it?

And can you tell me how to make a usb stick version for installing this. I can put the sly0v150.exe file on a stick on another machine but I don't want to mess up the bios on THAT machine by running the program. Should I run it but change the destination director to one on the stick?

While it may be possible, the program doesn't include any functionality for creating a bootable USB stick version of this. Running sly0v150.exe will extract the files. Then when you run launcher.exe, you're given three choices. You can create a bootable CD/DVD, update the BIOS from within Windows, or read the notes.

Re: BIOS update produces unusable sysyem; return to previous BIOS?

I made a CD with sly0v150.iso and ran it. Now things are worse. The screen is completely filled with static.

If I try to run sly0v150.iso again, are there any inputs required from me, once the program loads? Or is the bios updated without input and the system should just re-boot with the new bios?

I don't know for sure because I don't have one of those models to test. It can't hurt to try again at least.

There are no plus signs next to any of the former BIOS. Or any links to download them that I could find. I tried Firefox, Chrome and IE

I meant that when you're viewing the download list, you should see the current BIOS update. Clicking the plus sign will expand it, showing older BIOS updates beneath. Those won't have plus signs; you just click the link on the one you want.

I am on the web page that say "Change History" and shows previous versions of the BIOS. There are no links with this list of older BIOS. I've tried it with Firefox, Chrome, IE. Java ON, Javascript ON.
