I recently purchased a 660 Satellite and I heard that it comes with unwanted pre installed Toshiba software and  pop up ads. Someone from a retail store said that this software can significantly reduce the speed and performance of the laptop. Is there an easy way to remove them?

Yes, go to uninstall programs, simple enough.

 I prefer to uninstall programs because the less crap you download from the internet the less your chance is of getting spyware or a virus, I don't care if it says it's safe to use.
