So after my laptop went to sleep mode i woke it up to sign back in, it wouldn't let me log in. To make it better early today i logged in just with the same password that i was trying after awaking the computer. Does anyone have a idea what went wrong or what to do?
Thanks for your help

Which computer? There is a label on the bottom.
I don't understand the problem.

It a Satellite A665-S5170, the problem is that the password that i have been using to login since i bought the laptop, all of a sudden doesnt work anymore, it worked fine early that day.

I've had this problem a few times. It's possible that the numeric pad function key has been activated, so for certain letters you're actually inputting numbers.

How though? I know that i didnt activate it. Is there a way to deactivate it?

Most problems like that are due to the Caps Lock or Num Lock key.
If you're still in Sleep, try turning of the machine by holding the power button down and then restarting cold.
If that doesn't work, I'll give a way to reset the Windows password.

Well my password has numbers in it so numbers lock would have to be on, and I don't have capped letters. Turning the machine off doesnt do anything. So whats the reset method?

numbers lock would have to be on
Turn Num Lock off and use the number at the top.

been trying that. It doesnt seem to work though, for the cd it says boot failed and this machine isnt designed for usb booting.

for the cd it says boot failed
Did you try F12 to get the boot priority menu in the BIOS?

Yep set so that the computer will boot from the cd drive, and there is a disc in there when i do this. There isnt an option for usb boot so that cant be done. Does it matter that i hit F2 not F12?

Does it matter that i hit F2 not F12?
Not so far as I know.
You might verify that the drive is at fault by trying another bootable disc.

Dont think it is, while i was still able to use the computer after a while if i double clicked the cd drive a window popped up with a error message saying that a driver or something like that was missing.

Sorry, I don't have more to say. No idea why you can't boot from the CD.

I ended up paying someone to get past it. Probably could have boot from the disc but i probably didnt read the intrustions right.
Thank for the Help Jerry.

At least you got the problem solved. Could be worse.
