I am just trying to play a DVD using my Toshiba DVD Player in my Laptop Satellite A300 PSAGCA. It is coming up with an error which says "An error has occured in audio output settings. Please check that the sound driver is set up properly" To the best of my knowledge I haven't change anything recently so could anyone please guide me how to fix this as I can't play the DVD's.

Can you give us the full part number of that computer, Desy? It should something like PSAGCA-06M01N.

Thanks Jerry for you attempt to help.
It's getting very fustrating at my end because one day it was working the next day it wasn't. My computer obvouisly tries to do upgrades all by itself sometimes and because I really have no idea what I am doing, I generally say OK to them when they ask, though I do tend to look at what software is asking for it. Maybe it was one of those times.
If it helps my my Windows Multimedia will also not working either if I try to use it to play a DVD. It's error comes up with "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer".
The full part number of the computer is PSAGCA 0G60IQ.
And again thank you again in advance Jerry. Just remember I am a dumbie when it comes to this stuff, so keep it very "Simple" for the Blonde Dumbie your are dealing with here!

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the player, Desy. (You don't say which Windows.)
Toshiba DVD Player for 32-bit Windows Vista, 1.31.12
Toshiba DVD Player for 64-bit Windows Vista, 1.31.12

You are an absolute gem Jerry.
Uninstalled, then reinstalled using your link (and yes mine is the 32 bit Vista) so thank you for going to so much trouble.
Now for the drum roll......did it work......nope......Ahhhh! Still came up with the same error!
"An error has occurred in audio output settings. Please check the sound driver is set up properly"
Is it hopeless Jerry?
