Is Skype compatible with the Thrive tablet?  I have tried it, but no video signal is sent from the tablet.  The other end gets only a green screen, but audio is fine.  The camera is working - there is a little thumbnail of my video in the corner of the screen.

Yes, Skype is compatable.  Whoever you connected with needs to update thier version of Skype.  It should work after that.

Also make sure video calling is enabled in the Skype settings.
